Anyone who knows me, knows that I am go-getter.  I love to mother our four children, I love to homeschool them, and love to serve in our church.  Serving, helping others and keeping active is a joy. I don’t usually slow down.

Three years ago,  two things happened.

I delivered our fourth child, and during that delivery I had a life threatening hemorrhage. One of the scariest times of my life. During their efforts to save me, my hip was damaged in the process. The next morning, the doctors came in and told me that they discovered that my new son was born with a heart condition – this lead to a three year trial of pain and discomfort for me, as well as some anxiousness and care for my son.

My once busy body, was indeed SLOWED DOWN.

Though I was so grateful, and thanked God everyday for His hand upon me during that hemorrhage, I was left discouraged as to why I was now living everyday in pain, and I was unable to do the things I used to do.  I also wondered why our son Isaac had to deal with this trial.

A long process started as we looked into what to do for the repairment in my hip – the outcome was……. surgery.

As a wife, mom, and homemaker of our home, I was very nervous as to how my family would be taken care of!  Not being able to move for several weeks, with no driving, and using crutches as my means of mobility, made me think “I don’t know how my busy household will function?”

…… But God knew.

Psalm 46:10  says,  “Be still, and know that I am God.”

After surgery, I had no choice but to lay in bed…… for a long time.
While lying there – a peace came over me in our home.  The kids were all looked after, I was resting, and dinner was taken care of.
God gave me this beautiful picture of Him carrying me in His big strong hands. A vision I will never forget – He told me, not to worry, be still, and He will carry me. God LOVES me and my family so much that every detail was taken care of.
For weeks, my circle of friends pulled together for me and my family. God used people around us to look after even the smallest of details.

I cried.

I cried because of the comfort God put upon me, and how we were shown so much love and support in a difficult season.  He lead me to this verse …..

Isaiah 46:4  reads  “I will be your God through all your lifetime, yes, even when your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and be your Savior.”

This verse tells me, that no matter what season of life I am in, the good or the rough, God loves me so much that He will carry me!. It tells me that no matter what Isaac may have to go through as he grows up, that God will carry him. No matter what age we are, or what stage of life we are in, it says that He made us and He will carry us!

I must never forget that He has always carried me.

He has carried me through:
Loneliness, anorexia, brokenness, infertility, health scares, weariness, financial burdens, marriage troubles and so much more. Not once was I stranded, or lacking anything.

As I write this, I am still recovering, and Isaac has many more tests to go through,  the trial is not over.
BUT……

I will not worry
I will be still
For God carries me.
