A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.
Proverbs 24:33,34
You shouldn’t have spoken to your spouse that way. // “Oh it’s no biggie. They know where I was coming from.”
Was that the best attitude to have with your boss? // “It’s just stress. Everyone gets stressed – even the boss. He understands.”
Ooops! You missed a spot________ [in that report, cleaning the kitchen, etc] // “Who cares? It’s so small. It’s not a big deal.”
It’s just a “little” disobedience. It’s just a “little” laziness. The world will still go on. No one will get hurt. It’s no biggie… or is it?
That verse tells us that poverty will come upon you like a robber. Poverty speaks of lack. Where is there lack in your life right now? A lack of anointing, lack of vision, lack of grace, lack of patience, lack of wisdom…a lack of the sovereign move of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s ask the Holy Spirit today to show us where we’ve allowed a little sleep to settle in, and then, in the spirit of growth and enlargement, let’s overcome!
