Psalm 124:7,8 (NLT)
We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap.
The trap is broken, and we are free!
Our help is from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
Feelings lie. I remember the first time I read those words. Feelings lie. What an amazing truth! It’s liberating to know that just because I FEEL a certain way, doesn’t mean it’s right.
It doesn’t mean it’s reality. It doesn’t even mean it’s necessarily the truth. I must daily choose to actively set aside my feelings and allow the Word of God to renew my mind with Kingdom principles. Just because I feel it, doesn’t mean it’s true. But because He loves me, every word HE says about me IS true.
Truth: The enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy me and will keep pursing that all of my life.
Truth: I have been set free from the snare of the enemy.
Truth: God’s mercies are new every morning!
Truth: He takes my sin and throws it in a sea of forgetfulness.
Romans 12:2 (ESV)
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Bill Johnson said it wonderfully when he said, “I can’t afford to have any thoughts about myself that don’t line up with God’s thoughts about me.”
You are loved!
